Morgan City, LA: The M\/V Woods Hole, a 235-foot long passenger ferry built for the Steamship Authority of Woods Hole, Massachusetts, was christened on May 20th at Conrad Aluminum in Amelia, Louisiana.<\/p>\n

The ferry has the capacity to carry 384 passengers, 55 automobiles or 10 eighteen-wheel tractor-trailers. The Woods Hole will run its 45-minute route to and from Martha\u2019s Vineyard and the community of Woods Hole. The Steamship Authority Ferry schedule lists 14 trips daily.<\/p>\n

The vessel is appointed with oversized leather reclining seats, a snack area, conference tables and WIFI stations, and is equipped with state-of-the-art radar, communications and navigation systems. The Woods Hole has a beam of 64- feet, a draft of 10.5-feet and a hull depth of 18-feet.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s a beauty,\u201d said Project Manager Thomas Rachal. \u201cThis vessel is a perfect example of the ships built by Conrad Shipyard,\u201d he said. \u201cQuality in every detail.\u201d<\/p>\n
